Welcome to a Toony Blunt IBT practice listening test. You will hear a passage on the topic of the life of Michael Jackson. After you have listened to the passage, you will answer a series of multiple choice questions. Please listen carefully and choose the best answer for each question.
Michael Jackson was a famous American singer, songwriter, and dancer. He was born in 1958 in Gary, Indiana, and began his career as a child in the group The Jackson 5. Michael quickly emerged as the group’s lead singer and became known for his unique voice and incredible dance moves. He went on to have a successful solo career, with hit songs such as “Billie Jean”, “Thriller”, and “Black or White”.
Michael was known for his energetic and captivating stage performances, and his music videos were groundbreaking for their time for being so highly choreographed. He was also known for his philanthropy, making significant donations to charities throughout his career.
Despite his success, Michael’s personal life was often shrouded in controversy. He faced allegations of child sexual abuse, which he always denied and was ultimately acquitted of in court. He also struggled with addiction and had a number of personal and financial issues.
Michael died in 2009 at the age of 50. His death was a shock to the world, and his fans and fellow musicians paid tribute to him in the wake of his passing. His music continues to be popular and his influence on the music industry can still be seen today.

Get a bunch of those small crazy bouncing balls from the toy store. Buy two of each color. Try to have an even number of students participating in this dynamic. If you have an odd number of students, keep one of the balls for yourself. Then have all the students stand in an open area, (if you need to, move the chairs and the desks aside). Bounce the balls forcefully on the floor and have the each of the students catch one. Once everyone has a ball, have them go around and look for the other ball with same color. Once everyone is paired up, have them ask eachother the questions below. Repeat the dynamic for each question.
