Welcome to a Toony Blunt TOEFL practice listening test. You will hear a passage about chat GPT. After you have listened to the passage, you will answer a series of multiple choice questions. Please listen carefully and choose the best answer for each question.
ChatGPT is a language model created by OpenAI with the goal of advancing natural language processing technology. It is capable of generating human-like responses to prompts given to it, and has been trained on a vast amount of text data to ensure that it can understand and respond to a wide range of topics.
The origins of ChatGPT can be traced back to the development of the GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) model by OpenAI in 2018. This model was trained on a massive amount of text data to generate realistic and coherent text. Building on the success of GPT, OpenAI developed a larger and more powerful version of the model called GPT-3, which has been used to create ChatGPT.
ChatGPT has the potential to impact the future in a number of ways. For example, it could be used to create more personalized and human-like chatbots that can assist with customer service or provide support to individuals in need. It could also be used to improve language translation technology, as it has the ability to understand and generate text in multiple languages.
In addition, ChatGPT could be used to create more advanced virtual assistants that can perform tasks such as scheduling appointments, sending emails, or even writing reports. As natural language processing technology continues to advance, the possibilities for ChatGPT and other similar models are virtually endless.

Play the game MIX. Have your students gather around in a tight circle and then say , “Mix!”. Have them then weave in, out and around eachother as fast as possible and then say, “Pairs!”. When you say pairs, the students put their hands on the shoulders of whomever is closest to them. Then have them ask the below questions to eachother and then repeat. (If you have enough students you can also say, “Trios”)
Questions:
- In what way do you think artificial intelligence is going to change the world?
- Do you think AI can be dangerous? Please explain.
